SUMMARY:Exhibition: "Antonio Palacios. The rumor of history\, the noise of time"
DESCRIPTION:The Fisac ​​and Gutiérrez Soto rooms of the Official College of Architects of Madrid host this exhibition focused on the figure by the architect Antonio Palacios\, one of the great characters of the Landscape of Light\, thanks to works such as the Cibeles Palace\, the Cervantes Institute or the Círculo de Bellas Artes\, among others. \nThe exhibition\, which can be seen from September 29 to January 12\, coincides with the XX Architecture Week and focuses on his works and projects carried out outside Madrid\, mainly in Galicia. \nTo celebrate that the year 2024 marks 150 years since the birth of the famous Galician architect in O Porriño\, one of the most prominent names in the history of architecture in Spain\, the Madrid City Council\, the Official College of Architects of Madrid and the Architecture Foundation COAM have agreed to jointly organize the “Antonio Palacios Year”\, which will begin in October 2023 and will end a year later\, also in autumn\, with two exhibitions. \nThe exhibition is accompanied by the publication of a catalogue\, which will be volume 1 of a joint work with that of the City Council. In addition\, three months of rounds will be held during the autumn of 2023 and several guided tours of the exhibition will be organized.

SUMMARY:Lecture series: "On the centenary of the death of Ricardo Velázquez Bosco (1843-1923)"
DESCRIPTION:This cycle of nine conferences is dedicated to the figure of the architect Ricardo Velázquez Bosco on the occasion of the first centenary of his death. This cycle\, directed by Javier García-Gutiérrez Mosteiro\, will explore the different professional facets of Velázquez Bosco. Thus\, he will address the importance of drawing in his work\, his teaching work\, his connection with the Institución Libre de Enseñanza and his contribution to the development of Restoration Madrid as a great European metropolis. \nIt will also cover his role as an architect restoring monuments\, work that laid the foundations for modern heritage intervention in Spain.
