DESCRIPTION:This 2023\, the Madrid College of Physicians turns 125 years old. A celebration that is serving to make this institution visible its commitment to the most current health problems\, such as mental health. For this purpose\, it has produced a space for short interviews\, ICOMEMTALKS\, with 16 professionals: psychiatrists and psychologists: Mercedes Navío\, Rosa Molina\, Javier Quintero\, Fernando Mora\, Beatriz Martínez\, Anabel González\, Celso Arango\, Luis Gutiérrez Rojas\, as well as psychologists Rafael Santandreu\, Silvia Álava\, Patri Psicología\, Lorena Gascón\, Silvia Congost\, Alba Cardalda\, Elisabeth Clapés\, and the emergency doctor Mario Valdés. \nOn October 10\, World Mental Health Day\, an event will be held\, presented by Virginia Hernández\, EL MUNDO journalist\, together with psychologist Silvia Álava\, in which she will announce the conclusions of these meetings\, and as a culmination\, will hold a concert by the GUITARCELLO group composed of the Venezuelan guitarist Fernando Curiel\, a member of Latin Grammy\, and Antonio Martín Acevedo\, principal cellist of the Teatro Real\, who combine their talents and integrate classical sounds with contemporary pieces. Their paths came together thanks to their work together with psychiatrist Helen Trebbau in 2018. The performers undertook this project with special emphasis on the therapeutic effects of music\, aimed especially at mental health.

Piano\, jazz and varietés in the Madrid of Velázquez Bosco” will take place\, a tribute to Velázquez Bosco through the music that was heard in the Madrid of his time.\nIn addition to the classic program\, the festival will also show the most playful sound of the Madrid of the cafes and theaters of that time\, thanks to the Cabaret Rodante\, which will immerse the spectator in the bohemian and irreverent world of cuplé\, the revue and the theater of varietés. More than an instrument\, the piano became a symbol and indicator of socioeconomic status: it represented a fundamental piece that organized family and social leisure in the living rooms of the wealthy classes. DESCRIPTION:The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of the Madrid City Council organizes the eleventh edition of Madrid Otra Mirada (MOM) on October 19\, 20\, 21 and 22\, 2023. \nThis year locals and visitors will be able to visit 166 places of heritage interest for free\, which will organize a total of 209 activities. \nWhat can you visit and what kind of activities are there? \nMuseums\, theaters\, churches\, cemeteries\, parks\, gardens\, libraries\, archives\, cultural centers\, palaces\, hotels and other unique buildings will be shown to the public through guided tours\, concerts\, conferences\, exhibitions\, workshops\, screenings or children’s activities. \nMadrid Otra Mirada also constitutes a unique opportunity to better understand our history\, our art\, our architecture and the origins of the institutions around us. \nMOM 2023 Theme \nIn 2023\, the theme of Madrid Otra Mirada will be the centenary of the death of the architect Ricardo Velázquez Bosco. \nMore information and registration \nThe registration period will open on October 5 at 10:00 a.m. at www.mom.reservaspatrimonio. es \nActivities without registration \nSeveral of the activities scheduled for Madrid Otra Mirada 2023 do not require prior registration. SUMMARY:Exhibition: "Antonio Palacios. The rumor of history\, the noise of time"
DESCRIPTION:The Fisac ​​and Gutiérrez Soto rooms of the Official College of Architects of Madrid host this exhibition focused on the figure by the architect Antonio Palacios\, one of the great characters of the Landscape of Light\, thanks to works such as the Cibeles Palace\, the Cervantes Institute or the Círculo de Bellas Artes\, among others. \nThe exhibition\, which can be seen from September 29 to January 12\, coincides with the XX Architecture Week and focuses on his works and projects carried out outside Madrid\, mainly in Galicia. \nTo celebrate that the year 2024 marks 150 years since the birth of the famous Galician architect in O Porriño\, one of the most prominent names in the history of architecture in Spain\, the Madrid City Council\, the Official College of Architects of Madrid and the Architecture Foundation COAM have agreed to jointly organize the “Antonio Palacios Year”\, which will begin in October 2023 and will end a year later\, also in autumn\, with two exhibitions. \nThe exhibition is accompanied by the publication of a catalogue\, which will be volume 1 of a joint work with that of the City Council. In addition\, three months of rounds will be held during the autumn of 2023 and several guided tours of the exhibition will be organized.

DESCRIPTION:A dozen researchers from the Royal Botanical Garden (RJB) of the Higher Council for Scientific Research ( CSIC) will take advantage of the scientific dissemination project ‘The European Night of Madrid Researchers’ to highlight before the educational community the importance that botany has in the field of science by interrelating with many other subjects and covering the extensive study of the different forms of life in nature. \nThe activity will take place on the morning of Friday\, September 29\, between 9:15 and 2:30 p.m. The three scheduled meetings-colloquiums will take place in the assembly hall of the Botanical Garden. At the conclusion of each colloquium\, attendees will take thematic guided tours of the Garden to learn in situ about the conservation and research work with the collection of live plants. SUMMARY:Clandestina Big Band Solidarity Concert
DESCRIPTION:Next Thursday\, July 6\, 2023 at 8:30 p.m. it will take place in the Great Amphitheater of the Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Madrid (ICOMEM) the first act of ICOMEM EVENINGS with the Solidarity Concert of the Clandestina Big Band\, a group from Madrid with 17 musicians who reproduce jazz and popular music that triumphed in the 40s and 30s in USA. \nThe event is aimed at Madrid collegiates and the general public. In this way\, the so-called ICOMEM Evenings will be inaugurated\, a cycle of music\, exhibitions\, open days that make up the entertainment and cultural offer that ICOMEM has prepared for this year. \nAdmission costs 6 euros and the funds will go to the Project for the promotion of family recognition of minor victims of abuse\, within the program for the prevention\, diagnosis and intervention of child abuse of the ICOMEM Foundation.
