SUMMARY:The singing of the Sibyl. Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO
DESCRIPTION:The Getafe-Madrid Association for UNESCO\, in collaboration with the Madrid City Council\, the Landscape of Light and the International Ibero-American Music Festival\, will offer next April 21\, at 7:00 p.m.\, at the Casa de Vacas Cultural Center\, the concert “The singing of the Sibyl. Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO”. \nThe United Nations designates April 21 as World Creativity and Innovation Day in order to raise awareness of the role of creativity in human development. \nThe singing of the Sibyl of Mallorca was inscribed in 2010 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Since then\, the rite is open to the participation of all generations\, adults and young people\, to guarantee its transmission to posterity\, performing the functions of singers or officiants\, making the dresses and performing various complementary tasks.\nThe artistic expression of the song\, performed by Mª Ángeles Ferrer Forés\, at Casa de Vacas\, is performed a cappella\, with an organ touch between verses\, maintaining its Gregorian origin.
