Jelly palm

Butia capitate (Real Jardín Botánico)

A palm tree with a straight, sturdy trunk, dark brown in colour, covered with fallen leaf pods. Its crown is formed of curved, pinnate leaves, measuring two metres or more in length, with a spiny petiole, and bluish green in colour. This specimen reaches a height of eight metres, with a crown diameter of six and a trunk perimeter of one metre eighty-five centimetres.
