Hotel The Westin Palace

Five stars on the site of the Casa de Medinaceli

Inaugurated on September 12, 1912, the Palace Hotel, like the nearby Ritz, came into being to meet the demand for luxury hotels in the capital. Its success stems from its privileged location, an extensive block resulting from the demolition of the former palace of the Duke and Duchess of Medinaceli, today bordered by Calle Duque de Medinaceli, Plaza de Cánovas del Castillo, Plaza de Las Cortes and Calle Cervantes. Its present name is a result of including the name of the hotel chain, the owner of the building.
